Knowledge of Asian Games

亚洲运动会（简称亚运会、亚运；英语：Asian

Games，简写：Asiad），是亚洲地区规模最大、水准最高
的综合性运动会，同时也代表整个亚洲的体育运动水准。

亚运会是国际奥组委官方认可的地区性大型综合运动会，
由亚洲奥林匹克理事会主办，每四年举办一届，其前身是

远东运动会。1951 年，第 1 届亚运会在印度首都新德里举
行，至今共举办了 18 届亚运会。

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a multi-sport event
with the largest scale and highest level in Asia. It also represents
the sports level of the whole continent. Recognized by the
International Olympic Committee as a large-scale regional multi-
sport event, the Asian Games is organized by the Olympic Council
of Asia every four years with its predecessor of the Far Eastern
Championship Games. The first Asian Games was held in New
Delhi, capital of India, in 1951. Up to now the Asian Games has
been held for 18 times.
