to its professional advantages to serve Hangzhou Asian Games,
School of International Education, School of Humanities, School
of International Studies, and School of Physical Education of
Hangzhou Normal University jointly plan and compile A Practical
Chinese Handbook for the 19th Asian Games, hoping to serve
the international guests participating in the Asian Games for the
convenience of their life and work in Hangzhou, carry forward the
spirit of the Asian Games and Chinese culture, and further promote
cross-cultural exchanges during the Asian Games.
This book, according to the requirements of Chinese
Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language
Education, provides internationals with basic expressions
commonly used by Chinese by means of creating situations of
real life. In addition, it carries out cultural expansion outside
the language framework to fully reflect the characteristics of the
manual in humanistic and practical manner. As a special project
of Hangzhou Normal University to serve Hangzhou in 2021,
the editing and publishing of this book have received wide and
strong support from the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou Organising
Committee and Hangzhou Normal University. Besides, it is also
supported by the publishing fund of Zhejiang Western Returned
Scholars Association and “Hangzhou Culture International
Communication and Discourse Strategy Research Center” (Key
Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Hangzhou).
