齐国大将田忌常同齐威王赛马。然而，每次比赛，田

忌总是输给齐威王。于是他请教了孙膑。孙膑足智多谋，深
谙兵法。他说：“你们二位的马我都看了，马的实力相差无

几。下次赛马，您调整一下马的出场顺序就能获胜了。”

Tian Ji, a general of the Qi State, often had horse racing with
the king of Qi. However, Tian Ji always lost the game to the king.
So he asked Sun Bin for advice, who was resourceful and familiar
with military tactics. Sun Bin replied, “I find that the strength of
your horses and the king’s are comparable to each other. You can
prevail by adjusting the entry order of your horses in the next
race.”

赛马开始了，第一局田忌派出了自己的下等马，对阵

齐威王的上等马。结果可想而知，田忌输掉了第一局。第
二局，田忌派出了自己的上等马对阵齐威王的中等马。结

果，田忌赢了第二局。第三局，田忌派出自己的中等马对
阵齐威王的下等马，他又赢了第三局。三局两胜，田忌第

一次在赛马比赛中战胜了齐威王。
