Cultural Extension: Yue Opera

戏剧是一种综合性的舞台表演艺术，它借助于动作、

语言、音乐等形式来叙事传情。 中国戏曲历史悠久，源远
流长，与古希腊戏剧、印度梵剧并称为世界三大古老戏剧

体系，同时，它也是其中最富有生命力的一支。中国戏曲
并不是单一化的存在，由于中国地域辽阔，各地的方言、

民俗、文化存在着很大差异，因此经过长期发展演变，自
然衍生出了 360 余个剧种，如昆曲、京剧、越剧、豫剧等

等， 这些剧种自成一支、各具特色，共同营建了中国戏曲
的百花园。

Drama is a comprehensive art of stage performance, which
tells stories and expresses emotions through movements, words
and music. Chinese Opera, together with Ancient Greek Drama
and Indian Sanskrit Drama, are renowned as the world’s three
ancient dramas. Moreover, Chinese Opera is the most robust and
colorful one of the three. In fact, Chinese large territory brings a
variety of dialects, customs and culture, and for this reason, more
than 360 types of operas had emerged throughout China, including
Kunqu Opera, Peking Opera, Yue Opera, Henan Opera and so
on. All these operas have their own characteristics, bursting into
bloom in the garden of the Chinese Opera.
