越剧是中国脍炙人口的经典剧种之一，与京剧、评剧、

豫剧、黄梅戏并称中国五大戏种。越剧擅长抒情，以唱为主，
声音优美动听，表演真切动人，唯美典雅，极具江南特色。

越剧多以“才子佳人”题材为主，并且艺术流派众多。越
剧经典剧目有《梁山伯与祝英台》《红楼梦》《西厢记》等。

Yue Opera（also called Shaoxing Opera）, Peking Opera,
Ping Opera, Henan Opera and Huangmei Opera are called five
major operas in China. As one of the most popular operas in China,
Yue Opera is at its best in lyrics and most lines are performed by
singing. With actors’ touching and elegant performance, Yue Opera
shows the characteristics of Jiangnan (regions south of the Yangtze
River). In addition, Yue Opera has always been themed with “gifted
scholars and beautiful ladies”, and varies from genre to genre. Its
classical works include Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, The Dream
of Red Mansions and Romance of the Western Chamber, etc.
