Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, located in Yuhang
District of Hangzhou and with 4,300–5,300 years of history, brings
a powerful demonstration for China’s 5,000 years of civilization.
Liangzhu Archaeological Site displays the highest achievement
of rice farming in the original stage of Chinese civilization
and Liangzhu Culture represented by it has a broad and far-
reaching impact on the development of Chinese civilization in
the next 5,000 years. Typically, it is a prehistoric and large-scaled
settlement site in east Asia in the history of human civilization.
Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City has complex relic types
with rich connotations in a large scale. The overall value of its
heritage is carried by artificial relic elements such as the City
Site, the Peripheral Water Conservancy System, socially-graded
cemeteries (including an altar), and excavated objects represented
by Liangzhu jade artefacts.
